I would like to be able to submerge items in either clear acrylic or clear plastic. The items will be things like pine cones or wood shavings, flower petals, etc. I want to be able to see these items that have been submerged within the clear acrylic/plastic. They will be encased in a solid see through block.

Next I will be turning these solid blocks on a lathe making them into various shapes. So the acrylic or plastic that is used needs to be able to be cut with a turning gouge and then shined using an abrasive for a clear smooth finish.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Ted

  2. Dear Ted

Thank you for requesting this information. It is a great question. I have found a link that will hopefully help you out: http://www.devicelink.com/mddi/archive/02/04/001.html I have only ever seen this type of process done before in glass moulding like this link: https://www.tamarackwv.com/shared/content/Product_images/PAAAAAALBCHOIOEA.jpg

I hope that this has been some kind of help.

Please let me know how you get on.

    Best of luck James Gardner.
